Mission & Initiatives

Mission

Our Mission is to develop a community of engaged engineers and other professionals working to promote human development and end extreme poverty is supported a number of dedicated volunteers. The main goals for the chapter are to:

  • Allow members to learn and contribute. We have opportunities for members to learn through various events and to contribute through outreach events. Events will include various presentations, workshops and seminars, and a local conference!
  • Plan awareness events, mixers and fundraisers. These events provide valuable networking opportunities and bring together international development supporters from a variety of backgrounds and industries.
  • Continue to build partnerships with local businesses and companies. We see opportunities through corporate partnerships to: engage employees through our Workplace Outreach program, create impact in developing countries by asking companies to introduce fair trade options in the workplace and, increase discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Support overseas volunteers and programs. Through fundraising and overseas volunteers, Calgary Professional Chapter actively seeks to support EWB mission and goals to promote human development through access to appropriate technology.

Our Chapter offers some great opportunities for Calgarians to take action and help create positive change in developing communities overseas. Become a volunteer.
